COVID-19: What Minister, Ehanire told reps about ‘Mysterious’ deaths in Kano

Osagie Ehanire, Nigeria’s health minister has said there is no proof yet that COVID-19 caused the unexplained deaths in the state of Kano.

Ehanire said this during his speech to the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

According to him,the inquiry is still underway to ascertain the cause of deaths.

Sani Gwarzo, the coordinator of the presidential task force on COVID-19 in Kano, told reporters on Sunday that “most of the deaths reported from recent experiments and tests showed the cause was coronavirus.”

However, while addressing lawmakers, Ehanire said “there was never a case of him (the task force coordinator) saying 80 percent of people died from that or any other disease at all.

“The person did not say that the people died from coronavirus.”

However, the Lagos state has discharged 60 Covid-19 Patients today
