Thomas Tuchel, the Chelsea manager, has commented on Ralf Rangnick’s rumored move to Manchester United.
According to various reports in England, Manchester United is almost ready to choose Rangnick as their interim manager.
Following the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last Sunday, the selection of an interim manager became necessary.
Tuchel discussed Rangnick’s “great influence” on his career as a player and coach.
Rangnick will take over as interim manager of United in the next 48 hours while the Home Office issues him a work visa.
“He helped me a lot because he was my coach and then he was one of the major figures to persuade me to attempt coaching, so he had a great influence on all of us at this time,” Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said to reporters on Friday.
“He showed us that in football games, it’s not necessary to follow individuals to the bathroom because it’s a common assumption these days that defenders follow strikers everywhere they go.” He demonstrated that defending everyone in a zone is doable.
“But listen, before I get carried away and start talking too much, he hasn’t been appointed yet, and we should all respect each other.”
“Let’s respect Ralf’s and the club’s choice, and then you can maybe talk about it after things are done.”
