According to a report published this Thursday in ‘Le Parisien’, Real Madrid have not contacted Kylian Mbappe despite an avalanche of rumours of him moving to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Leo Messi’s arrival meant everything else took a back seat. Now, his move to Paris means the former Monaco man will no longer be the main man, something he shared with Neymar in the past.
Therefore, there are rumours saying that Mbappe has told the club he does not want to renew and that he wants to go to Real Madrid. This information increased Madrid fans’ optimism considerably, but now ‘Le Parisien’ has dampened that enthusiasm.
According to the cited media outlet, there has not been any recent contact between the La Liga club and the French striker. It seems like both parties have put negotiations on hold.
Two possible scenarios
The ball now seems to be in PSG’s court. Madrid, like any club which tries to get a player of his calibre, need the player to do his bit. Rumours say he has already done that, so it now depends on PSG.
Madrid are hoping the French outfit agree to sell him. If the door is slammed shut by the Ligue 1 side, Madrid will try again next summer when Mbappe’s contract expires. He would join on a free although is he keeps on refusing to renew, he could face some punishment from PSG, who do not usually take this well.
On the other hand, if the French team agree to negotiate, ‘Los Blancos’ will be within touching distance of completely the signing of their dream transfer target.
