Nigerian govt. told to “Increase workers’ salaries every four years”

The National Coordinator, Concerned Advocates for Good Governance, CAGG, Barrister Olusegun Bamgbose, Esq, has urged the Government of Nigeria to raise workers’ salaries every four years.

Bamgbose noted, as workers celebrated their day on Friday, that they are undoubtedly the foundations of every country, and indispensable as well.

“No nation can live without man powerful workers. The entire country struggles when they have resources down. They’re the backbone of every country, “the legal practitioner added to True News Nigeria in a tweet.

He also noted that a nation’s strength is determined by its workers’ power, and that no amount invested in their welfare is a waste, maintaining that the more the workers, the healthier a country will be.

“It is against this backdrop that we propose a law being made every four years for an upward adjustment of the wage of employees. This is never a requirement which can not be fulfilled, “said the lawyer.

“Inflation rates in Nigeria are worrying. The Government will be diligent in striving for the nation’s welfare.

“We expect a strong decision from our President on this. Politicians should not be left to the upward inspection. The law should be the determinant. Nigerian workers deserve a better social welfare program.”
