Liverpool Boss, Jurgen Klopp speaks out on Salah’s contract situation at Liverpool as his contract at Anfield expires in 18 months.
According to Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool is unconcerned about Mohamed Salah’s contract negotiations.
Salah’s contract at Anfield expires in 18 months, and talks over a new agreement are still ongoing, with Klopp saying that ‘what they want is clear.’ He made it plain in a recent interview with Egyptian TV channel MBC Masr that he did not want to leave the Premier League, but that the club was responsible for resolving his position.
Klopp said last week there had been no update on talks and Barcelona head coach Xavi has reportedly expressed his interest in the forward.
“We are talking. Extending a contract with a player like Mo is not a thing you do over a cup of tea in the afternoon and find an agreement,” said Klopp.
“This is completely normal. There’s really nothing else to say. Mo speaks about it when he gets asked about it. I can say only a few things because the rest is not for the public.”
Salah is expected to lead Liverpool’s attack on Tuesday when they take on AC Milan in the final game of Champions League group stages.
