Steven Gerrard, former skipper of Liverpool, acknowledged his still deplorable slip which cost the club a prize in the Premier League.
However, he insists he is as happy in an interview with The Athletic to see that this season the reds win the trophy.
Gerrard’s mistake in the 2013–2014 season gave Chelsea a goal from which Liverpool was never recovered.
Besides the 2013/2014 season, Liverpool completed four points in 2008-2009 from Manchester United and was also runner-up in 2001/2002.
The Premier League was the only trophy that missed from his imposing list of honors when Gerrard left Liverpool.
“I just wished the players any accomplishment since I stopped, “he told The Athletic.
“I must live with my regret if you like it and I think it’s never going to go away. Three times I came around. The events of 2014 are well documented and most likely discussed due to Chelsea’s game and how cruel it was.
“So that’s the little mistakes I’m going to live with while I was playing.”
