Payment of SPW workers shall commence soon as Federal Government announces the release for registered Special Workers.
FG to pay Special Work workers
The Minister of State, Labour & Employment, Festus Keyamo announced made the announcement on his Twitter account.
the Statement reads:
“President Muhammadu Buhari has graciously directed a release of the funds for the payment of stipends to the 774,000 participants of the SPW programme. I have consequently directed the NDE to begin processing the payments and participants should begin to receive payments soon”
According to him, those who have successfully registered for the program would soon start earning money in their bank accounts.
He further added that Bank Verification Number (BVN), will be used to prevent recipients from earning twice especially those who have registered under two names.
But the minister did not say when the government would start paying the bill.
In January, the Buhari administration launched a program to support 750,000 poor youths amid rising youth unemployment.
