BREAKING: Boko Haram Insurgents Allegedly Kill Six Soldiers

BREAKING: Boko Haram insurgents allegedly kill six soldiers in an ambush on their convoy during the weekend along the Yobe-Borno border.

Truetalknews reports that the terrorists ambushed and attacked the soldiers along the Goniri-Gorigi Road as they were returning from a clearance operation.

According to a military source, the terrorists fired a rocket-propelled grenade on the convoy which hit one of the vehicles with about 8 soldiers in it, six of them died while two others were injured.

The source added that several weapons and ammunition were stolen by the insurgents during the attack.

Another source, a captain in the Nigerian army confirmed the attack, calling it a huge setback for the military.

Meanwhile, former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abubakar Kawu Baraje has denied saying that foreign militias were brought into the country and used to prosecute the 2015 general elections.

The PDP chieftain made this known in a statement released from his media office on Sunday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Baraje described the media reports that claimed he said that certain people brought in militias from Mali and other neighboring countries as fake news, outright falsehood, and imagination of the concerned reporters.

He noted that he never said anything like that during a press conference he addressed in Ilorin to mark his 70th birthday recently.

The PDP leader added that he was quoted out of context and wondered where the said reporters got their report from. He asked the reading public to discountenance the report credited to me.

Baraje expressed satisfaction that most media establishments whose representatives were present at the event gave the proper account of his submissions on national issues.
