Barcelona has been dealt a huge injury setback ahead of their La Liga match against Granada on September 20.
The Catalan club revealed in a statement on Wednesday that Pedri and Jordi Alba will be out for the rest of the season due to injuries.
Pedri was injured in the thigh, while Alba was injured in the hamstring.
This comes following Barcelona’s 3-0 Champions League loss to Bayern Munich on Tuesday at Camp Nou.
“Pedri has a quadriceps muscle injury in his left thigh. The player is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return.
“Tests carried out on Wednesday morning on Jordi Alba have revealed that he has injured the biceps femoris muscle in his right hamstring. As a result, the player is unavailable for selection until he has recovered.
“The left-back had to be replaced in the 74th minute of the game against Bayern Munich at Camp Nou, making way for Alejandro Balde to make his official debut for the first team,” Barcelona’s statement partly read.
