Transfer Deadline Day: Joshua King from Bournemouth Joins Everton. Norwegian professional footballer, Joshua King has joined English Premier League club, Everton FC, from Bournemouth.
The 29-year-old forward joined Carlo Ancelotti‘s side for a nominal fee until the end of 2020/21.
The forward joined Everton after making 161 appearances with no fewer than 48 goals while playing for the relegated club. Truetalknews understands that Bournemouth had played in the Premier League for five seasons consecutively before suffering relegation in 2020.
King had also netted no fewer than 53 goals in 184 matches for the south coast team after joining from Blackburn Rovers prior to Bournemouth’s first Premier League season in 2015/16, records have it.
Fulham also agreed a deal to sign King on Deadline Day, but the Norway international turned them down in favour of Everton. The London side did bring in a striker though, signing Josh Maja on loan from Bordeaux.
King’s contract with Bournemouth was set to expire at the end of the season and after a year of speculation linking him with various Premier League clubs, his five-and-a-half-year stay on the south coast is now over.
King has long been linked with a move away from the Vitality Stadium, even before Bournemouth’s relegation last season, with the Norway international’s former club Manchester United seeing a £20m bid rejected last January.
King’s Premier League football has been exclusively played with Bournemouth and his 161 appearances in the competition have produced 48 goals.
Confirming King’s arrival at Everyone, the club on its official Twitter account tweeted: “We have completed the signing of Joshua King from Bournemouth for a nominal fee until the end of 2020/21.”
Meanwhile, Premier League Champions, Liverpool FC has loaned Takumi Minamino to Southampton on loan, Truetalknews reports.
